About the event
Celebrate and honor Arab American Heritage Month with a special cultural dance experience at the studio. This class will introduce you to Dabke, a traditional Levantine folk dance known for its rhythmic stomping, hopping, and hand-holding that symbolizes unity and shared cultural identity. Widely danced across countries like Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, Dabke is a powerful expression of community, heritage, and joy.
In this workshop, you’ll learn both Iraqi and Palestinian styles of Dabke, guided by instructor Christina Repa. Although Christina is from Greece and not of Arabic descent, she grew up immersed in Arabic music and dance and has always felt a deep connection to the culture. This class is a fun and welcoming introduction to Arabic dance, and also a meaningful opportunity to celebrate and preserve a culture that continues to matter deeply. No experience needed—just come ready to move, learn, and connect. 💛
